They have everything you need for your grocery shopping in cook Minnesota. Always look forward to heading in to get our supplies and find out what new foods or product they may have. The ambience is your typical grocery store.

I put Kombucha on my grocery list for up North weekend with the in-laws thinking it would never be there, lo and behold, yes, Kombucha! Mind you, Cook has a population of 570 people, but I guess we are not the only big city folks up here.
After reading another review I decided to ask if they had salmon jerky. The guy was super sweet, he walked me to the meat department asked a couple people, no it's not in stock. But he told me they did their own smoked salmon so we looked for that but it was not going to be in stock until Wednesday. Bummer! The gentleman did ask if there's any other meats he could help me find and suggested some but I had my family waiting in the car so I had to go. Again bummer! At least I got my other Kombucha , it was five dollars but but I want to support businesses who support my sometimes quirky, New Age habits.
I asked to use the bathroom and was directed to the back stock room, take a right. Small town at its best!
I interacted with four employees and they were all super friendly, super sweetHelpful 3Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - S L.Mattawan, MI12121Oct 9, 2020
Was pleasantly surprised for such a small town. We were staying at the lake for a couple nights and needed a few things we forgot. Very clean and a good selection of necessities and extra stuff. Had some fresh meat and decent selection of fresh produce.

So grateful to have a grocery store in our small town. Cashiers and employees are always friendly , they carry out your groceries rain or shine :) I also love that they have such a variety of groceries since I like to purchase organic!
I also want to add that the owner is always giving to the community which is a major plus.
I love patronizing this family owned store !Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steve F.Naples, FL02Oct 20, 2020
Nice store. I was looking forward to their meats and produce, but I am very disappointed in the quality. No longer have the freshest produce and meats are just average. Have bought alot of milk that was nearly expired and sometimes sour. I don't mind paying a high price if I get good quality.

Very quaint little store in a small town. Staff super friendly. Awesome jerky (salmon and beef) and a dozen different types of brats made IN HOUSE!
Of note is that this is the only market that I've been to in the United States that didn't carry corn tortillas. When I asked about them, the gentlemen with whom I spoke told me that he didn't know that there was such a thing. I found it so cool that there were still places that were unique and hadn't been effected by outside influences.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - Hannah L.Portland, OR19461236Jul 13, 2011
The North Woods isn't the big city, but change creeps slowly onward everywhere....
I've been coming to this little part of Minnesota ever since I was a toddler, and one thing that doesn't change is the need to shop for about a dozen people when everyone's around for family time at Lake Vermilion. It's easy to become spoiled with Seattle's plethora of whatever-you-want-to-find at our grocery stores, but I'm happy to report that Zup's does a pretty good job of keeping many people with many tastes happy. Although you're hard-pressed to find any organic or free-range meats here, you can find things like fresh ginger, Bob's Red Mill grains, organic milk and soy milk, an excellent off-label Kashi-like cereal line, Greek yogurt, natural bath products, and some excellent house-brand cheeses at great prices. (And if you like sausages, you're in luck: Zup's makes their own in-house, and they're tasty.) I even managed to find a product I've never seen before: English muffin style bread!
It's even the sort of old-school spot where your friendly bagger will pile up your grocery boxes (yep, for big orders they re-use stocking boxes, which not only saves on paper but makes carrying them easier) and wheel them out to your car for you. (Although my man chastened me for actually letting someone carry my groceries, it's a nice touch that reminds me of a small-town pace of life, something I forget exists.)
Zup's kept the kitchen stocked, and never left me having to frantically revise a favorite recipe upon being unable to find a possibly too-urban ingredient. They're doing a great job as the only game in town!Helpful 9Thanks 1Love this 7Oh no 0 - S a.Lincoln, NE049Aug 9, 2010First to Review
Wow, impressive grocery store for a tiny town. They go way beyond the basics you might expect with a nice selection of less common items (frozen French Meadow bread, soy milk, organic produce, ... ). Actually, I'm impressed when I find this kind of selection even in a bigger city. Great service too.
